Welsummers
Welsummers
Welsummers are hands down my favorite dark brown egg layer. They are good layers of gorgeous dark brown eggs with spots, have lovely temperaments and are typically non-broody. My breeding stock comes from Whitmore Farms in Maryland and I could not be happier with them. I have had hatchery Welsummers in the past and they truly do not compare to the "Real Thing".

Olive Egger Project #1
Crele Penedesenca X Cream Legbar
We are working on a fun Olive Egger Project by crossing our Cream Legbar rooster with Crele Penedesenca hens. The offspring seems to be auto sexing but we have not hatched enough chicks to know if it works 100% of the time. The cross bred pullets look very similar to the purebred Cream Legbars, but they are expected to lay an olive colored egg.
We anticipate our first group of crossbred pullets will start laying in December. We will post egg pictures when available.

Olive Egger #2 Project
Olive Egger (Ameraucana X BCM) X DLBB
We have a lovely lavender OE hen (Ameraucana X BCM) She lays an awesome colored olive egg. We decided to put this hen in with our Double Laced Blue Barnvelder Rooster and have been hatching some amazing chicks. The offspring from this cross is not yet laying so we cannot vouche for the egg color but we expect it to be a deep olive.
Crele Laced Polish
We have been working on our Crele Laced Polish project since 2010 and we are proud with the results. Sorry, but we are not yet offering eggs or birds from this line. We may have started birds later in the year.
